This shell is loaded with an even ounce of #7 lead shot. Although nowhere near as popular as its little brother #7.5 shot, this shell’s 0.10” diameter pellets do a great job of dropping larger quail and dove, and it falls right in the sweet spot for taking grouse as well. Sterling casts their lead shot pellets on the harder side to protect their round profiles against deformation, and their fiber wad gives you that dense pattern you want when smaller birds are on your list of things to shoot in a given day.

These shells’ primers and powder charges are paired up to create a high chamber pressure – a muzzle velocity of nearly 1,300 fps makes aiming easier and death-on-impact that much more certain. And if you pick up these shells’ empty hulls to reload later on, they’ll no longer be Turkish-made. They’ll be American-made!
