Steel shot is typically reserved for waterfowl. This is because waterfowl often hang out around water (we know, shocking), and hunters wouldn’t like to spoil America’s beautiful lakes and rivers with lead which is known to cause terrible health conditions in the state of California.

But maybe the place you’d like to play trap or sporting clays is beautiful and deserves preserving, too. In that case you want to clap clays with Kent Elite Steel Target ammo!

This 12 Gauge shotshell is loaded with an even ounce of #7 steel shot. Those shot pellets are a hair wider in diameter than the #7.5 lead shot most frequently used for target shooting, but their pattern shouldn’t differ all that dramatically. Kent loads this shell to a muzzle velocity of 1,290 fps, which is fast enough to keep its shot on a straight path without biting you with too much recoil.

Kent Cartridge hails from the exotic land of Ontario. They began making nontoxic hunting shells way, way back in 1996, and today they offer a range of target and training ammo as well. Their meticulously screened round shot, uniform wads and consistent primers all deliver satisfying results however you intend to put a shotgun to work.
