We dream of one day owning a property that can fairly be described as an “estate,” complete with hundreds of dogs and an Italian renaissance fountain full of bourbon. But until our Powerball numbers are finally chosen (9 12 20 38 40 45), we’ll just have to settle for target shooting with Estate Cartridges’ fine 12 Gauge shotshells.

This Super Sport Competition Target shell is loaded with one ounce of shot instead of one and one eighth. The shell’s 1,235 fps muzzle velocity isn’t outrageously fast, however, so you can anticipate some fairly tender recoil whenever you let a salvo fly.

This shell is loaded with #8 shot pellets. They are 0.005” smaller in diameter than the #7.5 shot that is often used for target shooting, which is why this shell stores 410 instead of 350 shot pellets. That spells a nice and dense pattern, and a narrow one at that thanks to Estate’s extra hard deformation resistant lead.

This three dram equivalent shell should give a semi-auto the juice it needs to cycle correctly. Estate’s hulls are low-brass (technically low-steel, since the caps are in fact made of steel), and they are the very definition of reloadable.
