This shotshell’s packaging bills it as suitable for deer hunting, but in all honesty it is suitable for any application that calls for nine individual pellets of 00 buck which exit the muzzle at a velocity of 1,325 fps. Home defense immediately springs to mind as one of those applications!
This tight-patterning shell is designed to put as many of its powerful 0.33” diameter shot pellets on target as possible. Winchester doesn’t just make hard lead pellets that survive rapid acceleration without undergoing significant deformation. They also surround those pellets with granulated buffering material, which is supple enough to absorb recoil energy before it can make the shot too flat to exhibit straight and narrow trajectories.
This ammo is loaded with clean-burning propellant and clean-igniting primers, as well as high-brass red-tube hulls that withstand rapid cycling without failure. Those crimped hulls are reloadable! This ammunition was manufactured by Cheddite in France. It features Winchester's components and was produced in full accordance with the old American company's standards for quality.
