For indoor training with your 12 Gauge shotgun, you could do no better than Federal’s BallistiClean line of ammunition. This shell’s buckshot is frangible, so it turns to harmless powder the instant it connects with a hard target or backdrop. That virtually eliminates the kind of hazardous splashback that could put a serious damper on any shooting session!

BallistiClean shot pellets are also lead-free, so they won’t turn into a carcinogenic haze after they have disintegrated. Better yet, Federal’s Catalyst shotgun primer is also devoid of lead, making this an ideal shell for training indoors where ventilation may be anything less than adequate.

While this shotshell is primarily intended for rewarding range training, it is also practical for home defense. Because its buckshot crumbles to dust on impact, it’s nearly incapable of penetrating wallboard to put innocent bystanders in harm’s way.
