The first is BB steel. It’s a trusted tool for clobbering honkers and quackers alike, and it certainly packs a wallop when it’s pushed to a muzzle velocity of 1,425 fps. Winchester plates their premium shot pellets for added corrosion resistance – peace of mind if your quest for waterfowl takes you near water, which seems likely.
The second is #7 Tungsten Super Shot. They are much smaller in size than any steel pellet you should choose for waterfowl – but they aren’t made of steel. Nontoxic TSS is 2.3 times denser than steel, which enables it to fit a beak-busting punch into such a relatively small package.
The payoff for stacking a layer of #7 TSS over a foundation of BB steel? A kill zone containing around 110 pellets instead of just 90, which spells a deader duck, quicker.
Last Call Double Shot also features sealed wads and primers, so accidentally exposing it to water won’t cause you to shriek like a little girl who found a a spider in her ponytail.
