Steel is by no means your only option when it comes to nontoxic shot. It is not the best option, either! Kent’s Bismuth Upland line of ammunition lets you take advantage of the superior performance of bismuth, a metal which has 24 percent greater density than steel!

This 20 Gauge shotshell is loaded with a full ounce of #6 shot, which is handy for hunting a wide variety of critters that hide in the woods and the field. Dense bismuth retains significantly more energy than steel downrange, so it resists crosswinds better, offers a greater effective range, and transfers far more killing energy to its target. It’s not quite as dense as lead, but when you have to use nontoxic shot there are few alternatives better than bismuth!

This shell’s shot is still hard enough to avoid damaging an older shotgun’s barrel. It’s safe in any choke as well, and Kent’s High-Performance Base-Wad enhances seamless functionality in any semi-automatic shotgun. (Works like a charm in pumps and break-actions, too.) The West Virginian nontoxic ammo expert’s CX2000 primer and double base powder see to consistent muzzle velocities. All you’ll have to worry about is finding the birds.
