This shell is loaded with the most #8 shot you’re allowed for competition with a twenty. The lead is fortified by a high percentage of added antimony; another heavy metal, which makes the shot pellet more rigid, less vulnerable to deformation, and more capable of tight patterning.
The straight-walled hull also contains a wad developed specifically for it: the Podium, which utilizes a one-of-a-kind compression zone to protect shot from deformation to an even greater degree. All in all, it’s perfect ammo for people who just can’t stand deformation.
Federal’s a big deal in the shotshell world. They’re the reason why different gauges are different colors. They’re also responsible for loading All American target ammo in Minnesota with best-in-class primers, powder, and reloadable hulls.
