Fiocchi certainly doesn’t make any secret of which bird they designed this 20 Gauge shotshell for. But if you believe #7.5 shot is just a little too small for pheasant – and many hunters do – then you’ll still find this ammo perfect for bagging all the smaller birds you’re liable to encounter out in the wild.

If Golden Pheasant ammo actually contained any gold, we’d keep it for ourselves. But this shell does utilize a decidedly less expensive metal to enhance its performance: nickel. Each hard lead shot pellet is plated with nickel, which makes it even harder. That’s why this shell is able to produce so consistently tight a pattern, and also why its shot reliably penetrates coarse vegetation and plumage alike.

This shell is 3” long to accommodate its generous 1-1/4 ounce portion of shot. It’s going to produce a little more felt recoil than your standard 7/8 ounce target load, but the round’s 1,200 fps muzzle velocity is not so fast that you’ll get bucked by a massive amount of kick. And if Fiocchi sells a shotshell in the USA, that shotshell must have been made in Missouri. Go Chiefs!
