It’s easy to shoot an elephant. Killing it is another matter. On the flip side of things, it’s really hard to shoot some pest animals on account of their tiny dimensions, but they’re easy to send reeling once you do. This 22 LR cartridge by Winchester is ideal for just such cases. (If you want to shoot an elephant with this round it’s certainly your right to, but tell your lawyer in advance that we’re not responsible if you wind up looking like a hamburger manhole cover.)

This cartridge is loaded with 29 grains of #12 lead shot. The pellets are only 0.05” in diameter, so this round still holds approximately 158 of them. That provides a dense and effective spread that’ll make a mouse regret going anywhere near your house. It’ll make a rat, splat. It’ll make a snake, ache. It’ll make a crow, blow. (Suddenly we miss James Brown.)

This round’s brass shell casing features a tight star crimp that holds its small shot tightly in place before it’s ready to fly. Please note that a round like this is completely incompatible with a ported barrel or compensator, as its shot may get snagged on the holes and bounce out in the wrong direction -- namely, yours.
