It’s not exactly the cartridge we’d most prefer for self-defense or tiger hunting, but the low recoil, low report, and above all fun to shoot 22 LR will always be one of our favorites. This versatile rimfire ammo by Browning is great for carefree plinking and setting personal distance records, and it’ll do to a squirrel what a high-powered rifle round would do to a tiger.

This round’s bullet weighs 36 grains. It accordingly benefits from a 1,085 fps muzzle velocity out of a handgun – or 1,280 fps in the case of a rifle! Out of a rifle this bullet will remain supersonic until approximately 42 yards, and will need to rise by no more than 3” as it beelines toward a 100 yard target. That’s just the kind of flat trajectory rimfire snipers demand!

A CPHP is copper plated, which hardens it for more reliable feeding in a semi-auto and also reduces barrel fouling to preserve the rifling’s ability to correctly stabilize the bullet. Its nose cavity enables this bullet to expand following impact, suiting it better for hunting larger varmints that you’d rather drop on the spot than merely mortally wound.

Browning’s brass, primers, and propellant won’t let you down, so you won’t want to put your gun down until you’ve blown through all 1,000 rounds in these two cardboard boxes.
