In American mythology, “Fury” means something altogether cooler: Sig Sauer’s revolutionary new short-action cartridge, which may or may not be chthonic. (We can’t say, because we refuse to look the word up.)
This particular cartridge is a goddess of deer hunting. The AccuBond attends to deep penetration with its robustly bonded copper jacket and lead-alloy core; to wide expansion, with its rigid polymer tip, tapered jacket, and thickly jacketed base.
Great accuracy is no challenge to so ballistically efficient (G1 0.500) a bullet. Its polymer tip resists deformation under recoil so it can preserve the symmetry it needs to slash frontal air resistance. Its boat tail capably minimizes drag as well. Upon taking flight from a 24” barrel, the AccuBond conserves velocity efficiently enough to pull off the following numbers – genuinely impressive for a 150 grain projectile:
0yds: 3,000 fps | 2,998 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,810 fps | 2,630 ft lbs | 3.6”
200yds: 2,628 fps | 2,301 ft lbs | 4.4”
300yds: 2,453 fps | 2,005 ft lbs | 0.0”
400yds: 2,285 fps | 1,740 ft lbs | -10.1”
500yds: 2,124 fps | 1,502 ft lbs | -26.9”
600yds: 1,969 fps | 1,291 ft lbs | -51.4”
Sig loads this ammo with Hybrid cases: steel-capped to tame the 277’s furious chamber pressure, and reloadable so long as you understand what you’re doing to it.
