There are two ways to acquire dove and quail. The first is to start a dove and quail farm, which is difficult because the birds’ eggs are very small and therefore exceedingly difficult to avoid stepping on. The much easier way is to pick up a 28 Gauge shotgun, go to the kinds of places where dove and quail like to hang out, and shoot them.

Unfortunately, you cannot use just any ammunition in a 28 Gauge shotgun – it has to be 28 Gauge ammunition. You follow us so far? Good. Fiocchi manufactures this specialized upland game hunting 28ga ammunition in Ozark, MO, and it is the good stuff. Each shell is filled with 3/4 ounces of high-quality #8 shot. The uniformly round pellets are made of chilled lead, and are therefore hard enough to undergo acceleration to supersonic velocity without flattening out. That provides the predictable shot pattern which makes hunting unpredictable birds just a little bit easier.

Fiocchi triples down by loading their ammunition with smooth-cycling and reloadable hulls, as well as top-grade powder charges and primers. Ordering an absolute pile of 28ga ammo is always advisable, since too many stores fail to devote any shelf space to the criminally underappreciated shotgun shell.
