Horrible compared to other 308 Ammo
I bought 1,000 rounds thinking my DPMS AR-10 would eat this Ammo up. I am very disappointed in the quality of this Ammo. The main issue I have is light primer strikes.
When I use other ammo, no problems. With Colt, I get light strikes and I have had at least a dozen out of 100 rounds shot. I bet a bolt action rifle will be fine with this ammo. I'm staying away from Colt. I expect my rounds to go bang everytime.
Best bang for the buck, no pun intended
I'm sure the experienced sniper (which I'm nowhere near that) would tell me not to use this in my Accuracy International AT308, but I did and I shot way less than 1MOA at 500 yards (repeatedly) -truthfully less than 1" groups, you do the Math. I did have to make a full 1 mil elevation adj diff , compared to shooting Lapua Scenar 155 grain. To conclude for 500 yard range it served me well. I haven't tried stretching it out to further distances quite yet. im not sure what its performance will be with my setup (Tremor2 Horus reticle) but I'm going to sure find out. I was told you can not reload with this ammo. I don't reload regardless but for those of you that do, check into that .
I bought 1000 rounds for my new M&P 10, there were couple of jams at the first case then the rest of rounds are pretty good. the rounds are having on average little bit over one inch off on a 100 yard range.
Good Training Ammo
I fired about 60 rounds of this through a L1A1 and had no failure to fire or to eject. The ammunition seemed to be inconsistent, with several flyers and empty cases ejected at different distances and locations. I would use it for tactical training but not serious target work with this rifle. I will try it with a bolt gun and report back.
decent but not the best, great for
This stuff will do the trick for your military semi-auto just fine. You will feel better using iron sights. I have a decent setup on a R700 and I needed to remount the scope, so I used it to sight in. It shot well enough out to zero at 200 yards, perhaps enough to put down a deer if you are careful, but I would not use it for much more than target shooting. Once I was getting good groups on paper with this I switched to a more expensive (and harder to get) premium brand with the same loading to dial it in tight, and that's what I stick to for shots that count.
