We’ve gotta share a few words to the wise about this ammo. First off, it has no business in a rifle. It may not cycle in a lever gun, and Henry says shot pellets can actually damage the rifling of their barrels. Second, you do not want to fire this ammo in a revolver with a compensator or ported barrel. A port can deflect a shot pellet back in your direction, and no one wants that to happen. Third, this ammo’s noncorrosive Berdan-primed aluminum cases are a one-and-done affair. They are not reloadable. Finally, CCI advises that this ammo can cause cylinder lock-up in lightweight revolvers (resulting from the plastic shot capsule creeping outward and interfering with rotation of the cylinder).
All warnings aside, this ammo is a real hoot to shoot! I once watched my cousin turn a rat into meat confetti with one of these rounds, and I assume the rats in your neck of the woods are no less vulnerable to #4 shot.
