The 38 Super languished in obscurity for a long time until IPSC and USPSA shooters appreciated it for its lighter recoil and fine accuracy. If you’ve spent a lot of time whomping targets at the range with your handgun, then why not put those skills to work for personal protection as well?

SIG Sauer fits this 38 Super +P cartridge with a 125 grain V-Crown bullet. The high-tech JHP has a unique stacked hollow point nose cavity, which is deeply segmented to control the axis it expands along at the end of its journey. This self-defense bullet also features V-shaped jacket skives to promote even more uniform expansion. The cannelure in the center of its shank binds the V-Crown’s jacket and core together so their combined weight can create a wound cavity deep enough to reach the vitals, even through thick fabric.

This round’s propellant is treated to emit a dull muzzle flash. If you’re concerned about muzzle flash’s ability to blind you when you open fire at night, SIG has got you covered. SIG went even further by plating this round’s new brass case with nickel. That makes it reflective and therefore easier to see in the chamber, reduces metal-on-metal friction for smoother feeding in a semi-auto, and even staves off corrosion.

Please note: This ammunition is incompatible with 38 Special and 357 Magnum firearms.
