Maybe you haven’t previously served in the Greek army. Don’t be ashamed. Few people are Greek enough to achieve that distinction. But that doesn’t mean you can’t fire the same 8mm Mauser ammo that the Greek army would have used back in the ‘40s!
Look at the base of this cartridge’s brass case and you’ll see two important things. First is its PCH headstamp, which indicates that it was manufactured by Athens’ Greek Cartridge and Powder Company around 1940 (give or take a few years). Second is its primer, which is corrosive. That means you’d better clean your rifle with boiling-hot soapy water, or Ballistol, or some other means for removing hygroscopic salts, or else your rifle will look like it spent the night in the Mediterranean Sea shortly after your shoot.
This cartridge is loaded with the 8mm Mauser’s classic 198 grain projectile. It is a full metal jacket, and therefore suitable for international warfare, although we strongly advise against declaring war on a foreign country.
