Better than an ammo can
I have many ammo cans, some steel, some plastic. However I now have 4 ammo bags that I love. The shoulder strap allows me to carry all four bags with different ammo to riffle range and still have my hands free to carry my range bag and gun case. Unless you plan to set your ammo in wet grass or mud, bags are the way to go.
Great bags for the range!
I use these hold and separate my reloads. The handles and straps make them very convenient at the range. They make great brass bags too. They will roll up and fit in your range bag when you are through.
A great alternative to ammo cans
I was apprehensive so I only purchased one 50 cal and one 30 cal bag but now I have them I will be buying more. I like the shoulder strap for grab and go field bag. Very handing for carrying loaded mags to the range.
Does the job
I saw these on LG on special and decided to take a chance on these. I have always preferred the Army surplus ammo boxes to everything else, but the convenience was intriguing.
They go for around the same price as ammo boxes, and they hold around the same quantity (50 cal). As a bag itself, it is very well constructed and very durable....more than capable of holding a large amount of anything. The multiple straps & handles make transportation very easy. I am somewhat apprehensive with keeping loose ammo in it, and I wouldn't trust it to be waterproof by any stretch (maybe 'resistant').
For now, I am using it solely for keeping boxes of shells. I find it a good way to segregate my other ammo. I will still prefer my Army surplus boxes to anything, but these bags are now my second favorite for alternate storage.
