Any man who would attack you is betting against you. Be sure that he loses. Master the art of the 38 Special revolver ahead of time, and arrive at a playing field that tilts to one side in your favor.

The lead round nose is the original 38 Special bullet. It worked back then. It still works now. No copper jacket means more lead fouling of the barrel, but it also means reduced risk of splash-back (i.e. little pieces of metal flying back at you) if the LRN hits steel (or some other similarly hard surface). At 158 grains and 775 fps, the LRN’s weight and muzzle velocity represent low-recoiling ignition.

Most target loads have plain brass cases. Remington Target ammo is special. These bullseye-pokers’ brass cases are nickel plated, which helps them slip in and out of the cylinder more smoothly and protects against oxidation in storage. A neat little bonus for a nice little cartridge.
