Hornady ELD (Extremely Low Drag) bullets are match grade projectiles that are made using Hornady's proprietary Advanced Manufacturing Process (AMP). Their extremely uniform jackets and Heat Shield deformation resistant tips provide the unerring performance that competitive shooters demand. The Heat Shield tip is a polymer that does not melt at extended ranges due to drag induced temperature increases, preserving accuracy for difficult shots.
These .30 caliber bullets come in boxes of 100 and can be used in a variety of hand loads. In the .308 Winchester, this projectile's 178-grain weight is relatively heavy and results in parabolic trajectories but excellent stability in flight and resistance to crosswinds.
Established in the 1940s in Grand Island, Nebraska, Hornady is one of the top manufacturers of high-end bullets for competition, hunting, and defense. Although their loaded ammo is very well regarded, Hornady's original business is designing and building bullets and it shows in the superior quality of their production.
