Q: would this work with a Springfirld Arms XD-M 5.25"?

A: Thank you for reaching out Adriane! It may, but the manufacturer only recommends using it for the handguns mentioned in the product description. As such I cannot in good conscience recommend this holster for your XD-M. I regret that we haven't currently got any XD-M holsters in stock, but we do update our inventory frequently. I hope you'll check back soon!
