Great GI mag, they're not all the same...
I personally like the GI mags, don't know why, but everyone runs Magpul and so do I but some times I just want a GI mag, probably from the days I was a kid playing Army, the GI mag just feels right in my hand, with that said I still replace all the internals with Magpul followers. ANYWAY, if you're going to go with a GI mag this is the mag I would go with.
Great value for the money
These are good old fashioned Steel magazines. I have had absolutely no problems, as expected, with them. Steel magazines are a lot heavier than the plastic or composite magazines. Not my first choice for short range, three gun, carbine courses, shooting or lugging around. In a fixed position or only carrying 3-6 magazines they work just fine. I currently have two banana clips, a single 30 round, and a single 20 round magazine in one carrier and the weight isn't bad. Doubling that up would probably be fairly noticeable.
Best AR-15 Mag out there.
The Pro-Mag feels a lot more solid than the P-Mag and the P-Mag's little cover is just another thing to get misplaced on the range or in the field. The Pro-Mags came recommended by a friend who is a veteran Phoenix PD Tactical Squad member and is standard use by his team.
