These magazines were previously assembled with black followers. Their followers are now red. The change is cosmetic, and nothing more.
We don’t know all that much about South Korea, but we can guess one thing for certain: their military must already have enough 5.56x45/223 Rem magazines, or else we wouldn’t have been able to get our hands on such a big pile of them.
This particular magazine was originally manufactured for use in the Daewoo Precision Industries K2 – the standard issue rifle of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, which uses the same magazine as the M16/AR-15. But instead of staying in Korea, it was shipped to the land of the free and the home of the AR-15.
