This round’s bullet is a 100 grain lead wadcutter. It’s a bullet shaped like a cylinder, complete with a flat, circular meplat that sits flush with the case mouth. The wadcutter is primarily preferred for precision target shooting, as it behaves like a hole puncher when it hits paper. Makes it heaps easier to see how tightly together you’re grouping your shots!
The wadcutter is less frequently chosen for defense when the revolver can’t produce a high enough muzzle velocity to make a JHP expand correctly. This round’s subsonic bullet may not deliver terminal expansion, although its flat face and angular shoulder will have a pretty adverse effect on soft tissues regardless.
Fiocchi’s pistol ammo is proper pistol ammo: newly made brass cases that are reloadable, Boxer primers that are noncorrosive, and bullets that don’t contain a lick of steel.
