Best Surplus Soft Point
Review by PermaFrost. (Posted on 11/15/14)
A test was made of currently available "surplus" military style 7.62x39. In the Soft Point category the Brown Bear SP won hands down. This round has the unusual characteristic of penetrating steel better than most FMJ, yet it expands violently in soft tissue creating a devastating wound. The deer that was taken with this round dropped in it's tracks with a large exit wound at the far shoulder. For self defense inside of 100 yards, this is the bullet of choice. I am reporting the findings of a group of AK enthusiasts who conducted tests over a period of several weeks.

You normally don't think of this type ammo as a penatrator (sp), but this rd. exceeded my expectations, steel plate tests, with five different types of ammo, including Norico yellow box steel core, an this was best!!!!weird...I'm buying more...

I shot this brown bear out of two M&M m-10-7.62 AK-47 rifles. Both rifles functioned great with this ammo. The only thing I suggest, is being careful loading these soft points into a metal mag. You can easily deform the tip. This is nice ammo. Buy it!

I've always shot Brown Bear out of my Yugo SKS, the fact that it ran well wasn't a surprise. The fast shipping was excellent. Can't wait to place another order here!!

Review by K. (Posted on 8/28/13)
I got this ammo THE NEXT DAY after I ordered it thinking I'd be waiting a week. I haven't shot it yet but I just wanted to let everyone know about the great service at LG. I'm sure it will be good stuff I've shot brown bear stuff. Its not the best ammo but for my SHTF stock its perfect.
