Karen Stricklin Duncan ( Sun, 20 Apr 2014 00:39:50 +0000 ) : can you shoot this in a k98 mauser? i bought sellier and bellot but it was not k98 spec and wouldn't feed. seemed to be to long?
Heidi Gunner ( Mon, 21 Apr 2014 13:09:05 +0000 ) : Hey Karen, sorry to hear about the trouble with the S&B. We have had customers with K98's report back that they had good results with this Romanian surplus 8mm ammo. Also, I found this forum with folks who claim to have shot Romanian surplus in their K98 rifles as well: http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=51959 Hopefully that helps. Of course, if you have any other questions, please give us a call or shoot us an email and we'll be happy to answer any other questions. Thanks for looking!
Lloyd Clodfelter ( Mon, 06 Jul 2015 21:07:35 +0000 ) : I would like to order this ammo but noticed a can opener is not include. I have not used a can of ammo before. How do I safely open the can without an opener? Is an opener available and what is the cost? Lloyd
Joseph Brendan ( Tue, 07 Jul 2015 00:30:10 +0000 ) : Just take a good sturdy flat bladed screw driver and a hammer. Wack it along the edge until the top plate is cut away. You will develope a feel for it. You won't hit the ammo and blow yourself up. Its OK. I've done it many times. You only have to cut half the can. Then get thick gloves and bend the metal tongue out of the way. Once you pull out some of the ammo it will loosen up and fall out. It sound like more trouble than it is.
Heidi Gunner ( Tue, 07 Jul 2015 14:31:29 +0000 ) : Hello Lloyd! There are many different ways to open these cans without a can opener. You can also find can openers at most military surplus stores. One of the ways we've discovered is a bit time consuming, but seems to make the cleanest opening. You would simply flip the can on it's top on a rough surface like a driveway or sidewalk, and you would rub the can on the ground until the thin steel lip is worn through. This will allow you to easily take the lid off the can.
Tracy Maglinger ( Tue, 21 Jul 2015 00:57:29 +0000 ) : is it corrosive?
Heidi Gunner ( Fri, 24 Jul 2015 14:01:38 +0000 ) : Hello Tracy! This Romanian surplus ammunition is loaded with corrosive components. Many shooters swear by using corrosive ammunition due to the price and simply give their rifle a good cleaning after each shooting session so the rifle is not adversely affected! Happy Shooting!
Will Thoms ( Wed, 05 Aug 2015 20:36:14 +0000 ) : 2 cans = crate?
Heidi Gunner ( Thu, 06 Aug 2015 13:46:14 +0000 ) : Hello Will! Unfortunately we are not able to provide any of the crates from this ammunition when 2 cans are purchased. I apologize about that inconvenience!
Gary Bradley ( Thu, 03 Sep 2015 12:21:13 +0000 ) : Just bought a can, forgot to ask though....is the bullet itself steel core like mosin ammo? I may wany to shoot it indoors

A+ ammo Review by Bacon
Nice ammo great price. (Posted on 8/17/15)
I like it can't beat the price Review by markpro
I shoot a lot of 8mm Mauser love the round and love the gun. I have found this round to be hard hitting accurate and very reliable (NO duds). The rounds tend to stick a bit on the stripper clips but nothing a sledge hammer can't solve. Just kidding once you break the first round free the rest fall into place. I always look for this ammo and I always make sure I have a good stock of it on hand you should do the same. (Posted on 8/17/15)
no issues Review by DaLoco
works awesome for maked in 1970`s.Unbeatable price. (Posted on 3/22/14)
Great Service Review by Tim
I am taking my purchase to the range in the morning. I was very pleased with the price since the rounds came with strippers. I usually don't buy Berdan corrosive ammo but getting the strippers along with the great price was actually a great savings to me, and I needed some strippers. This price per round is pretty close to what I could reload rounds for target practice anyway. It is hard to find 8 mm strippers for a good price. Sealed in the spam can all the rounds looked good and I don't expect any issues. I even received a spam can opener with my order - other dealers won't supply the opener. Lucky Gunner always has good prices combined with quick shipping. i have made many purchases from them and have never been disappointed in any aspect of their service. I'll stress the point that the prices are great, the products good, and the shipping is quick. Even during the recent run on anything firearm related Lucky Gunner was able to ship in stock items right away as opposed to other dealers that took forever. I frequently recommend Lucky Gunner to other shooters. Lucky Gunner is where I first go for what I need. (Posted on 1/19/14)
Good value Review by Mitch
I bought a spam can if this to try out in my military Mausers. This ammo performs well, no hang fires or duds. Ammo is well packaged, clean, and free of corrosion. My ammo was made in 1973, but it shoots like it was made yesterday. Get yourself some before it's all gone! (Posted on 12/17/13)
