CCI makes a lot of great, well-known ammo like the Speer Gold Dot or Speer Lawman. They also make the Blazer line of ammo that comes in either a brass case or an aluminum case. And that's what we want to talk about now, is the Blazer 9mm aluminum case, full-metal jacket ammo.
The ammo I tested is a 9mm 115 grain. It's got a lightweight aluminum case. It doesn't really seem to function a whole lot differently from a brass case, it just means you can throw a few more rounds in your range bag without weighing yourself down a whole lot.
I tested the ammo in several different 9mm pistols, and it functioned great in all of them. I didn't have any problems with feeding or reliability. I also did an accuracy test from the bench at about 15 yards. It was reasonably accurate, not what I'd call match accurate. But it was consistent and definitely accurate enough for practice or for plinking.
Since the case is aluminum and not brass you can't reload it, but if you're not someone who reloads, then why spend the extra money on the brass you're just going to throw away? Overall, Blazer aluminum represents a great value for people who like to shoot a lot but don't reload.

Ammo performs flawlessly, with very good shot groups. Excellent price, don't spend the money on brass if you don't reload. I have gone through approximately 3,000 rounds of this ammo and have had only bad round that didn't fire. The bullet completely separated from the casing when it was chambered. Beyond that I love this ammo and use it for both practice and in competition. The price is great for the quality you get. I shot some Blazer Brass when I was unable to get this ammo and I had several stove pipes with that ammo. From my experience this ammo is better than the brass. The negative on this is from time to time when I need a re-order, the ammo is not available. So, I guess I really should be criticizing it instead of saying good things about it. I have purchased 1500 rounds of this ammo in the last few months and have shot about 1300 rounds. I used the ammo in a recent competition and had no problems with it. Of the 1300 rounds I have shot to this point, I have not had a single malfunction but everyone round has fired perfectly. The only thing I notice about this ammo is that it does leave small silver dust size deposits in the weapon. This is easily removed during cleaning.
