Wait! Don’t interpret that as meaning that you should detach the 30mm M230 Bushmaster Chain Gun from an AH-64 Apache helicopter and use it to spray 60 rounds of 30x113mm ammunition in to the brush per second. What we’re trying to say is that you need this Winchester Super-X ammunition!
This ain’t no target shell. Its 1-1/4 ounce payload of shot is too heavy for competitive trap, and its #4 shot pellets are too large to pattern correctly for such small targets. But because #4 shot clobbers much harder than smaller-sized target shot, it kills squirrels and pheasants more reliably over longer ranges.
This shell’s wad is special. Its midsection is comprised of vertical ribs, which bend inward on ignition to reduce the shooter’s perception of recoil, as well as soften the force of acceleration for the shot pellets – one of the reasons why this round’s pattern qualifies as tight, efficient, and highly effective.
