…unless you’ve got a whole dang case of Federal Premium’s Upland Steel 12 Gauge hunting ammunition, that is. This ammo makes the world a better place by abstaining from strewing toxic lead shot all over its prettiest locales, as well as ensuring its owner can easily snap out any pheasant or other similarly sized animal within ranges out to 30 yards, or even farther!
Steel is a lot harder than lead shot. It doesn’t get flattened or otherwise deformed by the pressure of ignition, which is why it’s characteristically tight patterning. Steel is not as dense as lead, however. It’s only about 70% as dense, more specifically, but that’s nary a setback thanks to Federal’s judicious choice of muzzle velocity for this shotshell: a radical 1,400 fps that launches lead hard and carries oodles of lethal striking power pretty far downrange!
