This is B&P’s Heavy Dove & Quail series 12 Gauge shotshell. It is loaded with 1-1/8 ounces of #7.5 shot, which is spot on for hunting a wide variety of upland birds. The shot pellets are extremely spherical and rigid enough to remain that way while they are accelerated to a velocity of 1,255 fps. More than 390 pellets traveling over 100 fps faster than the speed of sound proceed to create the dense and hard-hitting pattern you want for smaller birds, although this ammo is certainly capable of trap and sporting clays as well.
This shell features B&P’s signature Gordon Hull, which includes a proprietary shock absorbing base wad just beneath its metal head. B&P’s own Nike powder combusts at a steady rate to even further reduce felt recoil, which makes this ammo a natural choice when you want to snap multiple birds out of the air in fast succession.
