According to our connection at Aguila, each shell in this box is loaded with 12 or 13 pellets of 0 buck apiece. Single-aught, as it is known, is 0.32” in diameter. That’s only a hundredth of an inch smaller than double-aught, so it still registers quite a powerful punch on impact.
This is a fast shell with its 1,275 fps muzzle velocity, and we estimate all its shot pellets combined put out a total of 2,092 to 2,266 ft lbs muzzle energy. Considering its dense pattern at close range, such explosive performance would really serve you well out in the woods or in your bedroom at three in the morning.
Aguila is based in Mexico. A great deal of the ammo they produce goes to their nation’s armed forces, and most of the rest goes to American shooters. Those who haven’t yet tried Aguila’s shotshells are often pleasantly surprised by how consistently they perform, with reliable ignition, steady muzzle velocities, and uniform patterns.
