This shell is loaded with #7.5 steel shot. Steel shot is typically reserved for taking waterfowl around sensitive wetland environments, but it’s no less nontoxic if you just want to fire it on your own property. It’s a fine choice for clay crushing, but we’re certain a handy marksman could use #7.5 steel for bird snagging as well.
This shell is loaded with cellulose-based filler (the material beneath the shot column which places it at the correct height for crimping), and its wad is made of paper. It’ll take a little time for elements to degrade those components, but not nearly as long as if they were made of petroleum byproducts.
This ammo’s hulls are not biodegradable – but that’s just as well, because you should keep them for handloading projects!
