This shell is loaded with #8 shot. It’s a versatile shot size that patterns perfectly for trap, skeet and sporting clays. Fiocchi makes the shot pellets out of first-run chilled lead, which is simply a fancy way of saying the shot pellets are extremely hard. They’ll stay spherical as they rocket down the barrel so they can produce a tight pattern.
Will this shell pound you with heavy recoil? Not at all! Its cushioned wad, lighter shot column and reasonably tame 1,200 fps muzzle velocity all contribute to this ammo’s gentler recoil impulse, which translates to a perfect way to avoid fatigue while you’re shooting clay all day.
Does its transparent hull enhance this shell’s performance in any measurable way? Not at all! But it does look neat, and it’s reloadable to boot. The low-brass cap may say Italy, although Fiocchi churns out these target loads in the great state of MO!
