This shell has a one ounce rifled slug. Loaded to a beyond brisk muzzle velocity of 1,650 fps, that pure lead projectile carries 2,645 ft lbs of energy as it roars out the barrel. To put that in better perspective, this shell exerts as much force at close range as a 308 Win round!

We get this question all the time: “Can I fire a rifled slug in a smoothbore barrel?” The answer is yes: rifled slugs for smoothbore, sabot slugs for rifled barrel. We wish the rule was more intuitive!
