Winchester wants to spare you that anguish. That’s why they cooked up their AUTOBUCK line of ammunition. These quality shotgun shells spark up to generate a steady dram equivalent of 3-1/2, which is optimal chamber pressure for a wide accordment of semi-autos.
This shell is loaded with buckshot. It’s not double-aught (0.33” diameter). It’s #1 buck (0.30”), with the narrower profile that enables a 2-3/4” hull to hold 12 pellets instead of the usual nine. They strike their target with more than enough authority to halt it dead in its tracks. But because they are more numerous, they also give you better odds of hitting your target and punching more holes through it. And because a #1 buck is about 25% lighter than a 00 buck pellet, it hits its target with relatively less momentum – a welcome benefit if you’re trying to mitigate the risk of over-penetration while you’re defending your home, or you want to bag a deer without destroying a large quantity of venison in the process.
