This shotshell is loaded with eight pellets of 00 buckshot. Its 1,200 fps muzzle velocity is comparably slow, and it isn’t loaded with quite as many pellets of double-aught as its 2-3/4” length would allow. That’s because this home defense load isn’t designed to maximize damage output. It is engineered to reduce recoil, and therefore make it easier to keep your aim trained on the threat while you are firing rapidly upon it.
Is this shell weak because it pulls its punch? Not even remotely, no sir. It is still loaded with nearly one ounce of 0.33” diameter projectiles, which will strike a target at close range with at least 1,250 ft lbs of kinetic energy combined. That is equivalent energy to what an M16 would deliver at close range as well.
This shell features a strong fluted black plastic hull and high brass head. Its tapered crimp facilitates feeding in all 12 Gauge shotguns, and its explosive components ignite cleanly to preserve functionality.
