This shell is loaded with nine pieces of 00 buck: 0.33” diameter solid lead balls that each have a muzzle energy of approximately 210 ft lbs. As such this shell leaves nothing to be desired in the close-range striking energy department. The shot column is also accompanied by granulated buffering material: small, supple beads that absorb recoil energy to help reduce shot deformation during ignition, thus promoting a narrower and more effective pattern as a result.
Super-X series ammo is typically made in America, but these shells are an exception. They are made by Cheddite of France, albeit with Winchester’s own premium components and in strict accordance with their stringent standards for quality.
