Torrent (tȯr-ənt) noun: a sudden, violent, and copious outpouring of (something, typically words or feelings).

Sometimes the situation calls for a torrent of hot lead. Maybe you have located a buck who is thoughtlessly keeping the antlers that belong on your wall on the top of his head instead. Maybe someone has decided to do something to or inside of your home without first consulting you. Maybe you have a bumper crop of squash and some free time. In any event, this 12 Gauge shotshell by Wolf will deliver precisely the torrent you need.

This shell is loaded with nine pellets of 00 buck. This is the shot that people most often employ for self-defense, as its range, spread, and power are all extremely well-suited for the task. Double-aught ticks off the boxes you want for deer hunting as well, especially if you’re in a densely wooded area full of twigs that could deflect a rifle bullet.

Each lead ball exits the muzzle at 1,325 fps to create at least an 0.33” diameter wound channel – wider, if the lead deforms during penetration, which lead is prone to do. All together this shell’s shot shares an 1,887 ft lbs muzzle energy. Consider that 1,000 ft lbs is considered the ethical minimum for deer, and 300 ft lbs is considered the conservative minimum for self-defense, and you’ll see why shells like these are great to have by the hundred.

Wolf’s Power Buckshot shell is worth the trust you’d place in it with an even patterning wad, clean burning propellant, and a non-corrosive primer. And while it hardly improves performance, we’ll always have a soft spot for a clear plastic shotshell. It’s like looking into a jar of dormant yet very powerful hornets!
