A #1 buck pellet is a couple of steps down in size from 00 buck. It’s 0.03” narrower in diameter and 13.3 grains lighter, which is why this shell’s nine-pellet column weighs a mere 0.83 ounces (for contex, nine pellets of double-aught weigh 1.1 ounces). That’s light, so you’re sure to notice seriously soft recoil despite the shell’s average muzzle velocity of 1,250 fps.
