Federal has invested quite a bit of research into their impressive Black Cloud series of shells in order to improve their compatibility with all fowling pieces. As a result, these enhanced 12 gauge loads from the Black Cloud line utilize the new Flitecontrol Flex wad which won't get shredded when fired through ported barrels and will exit the muzzle while encapsulating its shot load. After a few feet of travel, the wad's braking geometry will slip it rearward while the shot pellets maintain a tight group that patterns excellently at extended ranges. Each of these 3-1/2 inch shotshells contains 1-1/2 ounces of steel pellets which comprise 60% traditional BB shot and 40% Flitestopper BBs; the combination is proven to yield dense and effective patterning at all applicable distances.

Flitestopper pellets have a small belt around their diameter which acts as a cutting edge and produces deeper penetration alongside large wound channels that will bring down big ducks and geese like magic. Steel shot in general leaves less residue in edible meat and is required in some wetland hunting areas. Federal powers this 12 gauge shotshell with a clean-burning propellant which will leave virtually zero corrosive residues behind in your favorite shotgun. The powder is extremely stable and will burn properly at all field temperatures when it is ignited by Federal's lead-free Catalyst primer. A sealed crimp at the head of the shell as well as a black-nickel treated head at its base fend off moisture and ensure reliable operation in any environment.
