Federal Black Cloud 12 gauge shells offer unparalleled performance for hunting large waterfowl thanks to their use of Flitestopper sharp-edged pellets, which enhance the load's penetration and reduce the chance of wounded and possibly non-retrievable birds. These 3" shells have a mixture of conventional #3 birdshot and comparably sized Flitestopper pellets.

Each shell in this box of 25 fires a 1-1/4 oz. steel shot column at a muzzle velocity of 1,450 feet per second. This is a higher-recoiling load than those used for target shooting or smaller birds, so expect heavier recoil.

These shells are loaded in the USA by Federal, which is headquartered in Anoka, Minnesota. They're great for hunting birds, but should not be used for self-defense or large game as the pellets still do not offer enough penetration for these purposes.
