The AccuTip-V is not to be mistaken for the other big V in varmint hunting bullets. But it does have a similar design, which includes a low-drag polymer tip, a swaged lead core with a nose cavity, and a razor-thin copper jacket. The flat-flying little 17 grain bullet’s boat tail helps it conserve approximately 75% of its muzzle velocity at 100 yards, where it also has 136 ft lbs striking energy. The AccuTip-V is designed to self-destruct after impact as quickly and completely as possible. An explosion of core and jacket fragments, taken internally, is exceedingly bad for any small, thin-skinned critter’s health.
This is Remington’s highest-grade rimfire hunting ammunition, and has cases, primers and propellant that all show it. Order yourself a 17 lb case of 17 HMR, and you might just find you’ve got plenty of ammo for target practice as well.
