This shell’s single ounce of #5 shot isn’t the most common size you’re apt to find on store shelves. It is particularly good for duck when it is made of nontoxic steel, but you’ll find this lead shot far better suited for hunting pheasant. The heftier pellets are better able to penetrate the dense brush where the birds may seek cover, yet at 170 pellets per ounce #5 shot’s spread remains dense enough at a distance to kill. You’ll also find this shell’s shot worthy of home defense if you live in an area where penetration of walls or an errant pellet could jeopardize an innocent bystander.
This ammo is economical by the case, so you’ll feel comfortable experimenting with it or using it to discard of unwanted produce in the most dramatic fashion possible.
