This shotshell is long at 3” and holds a heavy 1-1/4 ounces of #6 shot – a great size for knocking a pheasant on its feathered kiester.

The hallmark of a Golden Pheasant shell is its nickel-plated shot pellets. We often see that metal on metallic cartridges’ cases because it smooths out feeding and resists corrosion. But when a thin layer of nickel surrounds a lead shot pellet, it helps it undergo rapid supersonic acceleration without becoming significantly flatter as a result. That’s why you can count on this shell to pour out its barrage of shot in a thick and narrow pattern that strikes harder over longer distances. Harder shot also penetrates deeper!
