Winchester's Varmint HE line of 22 LR is a new direction in varmint hunting and pest control. On impact, this high energy copper plated hollow point round segments into 3 forward moving pieces followed by the solid lead core that expands to 45% larger than its original diameter. This means you get awesome energy transfer and create a larger wound cavity than you would with a standard solid projectile. This ammo is designed to yield proven accuracy, sure function and great reliability.

Winchester began offering its quality product in 1873 and has been providing the citizens and military of the United States with the same standard of quality ever since.

This ammo is brass cased, rimfire-primed and non-corrosive.

Ballistics Test Summary

After firing five rounds of Winchester 37 gr Varmint HE from a S&W 43C into synthetic ballistic gelatin from 10 feet away through four layers of fabric to simulate clothing, we then measured the expansion and penetration of the bullets for this .22 Long Rifle (LR) load, which you can see in the chart below.

The photos below provide a detailed view of the the expanded bullets that were recovered from the gelatin. The high speed video shows the first of our five shots as it entered the gel.
