When CCI makes 22 LR ammunition, they usually admire their work and say “Nice.” But when they made this particular ammo, they took a step back and said “Whoops!” In other words, this ammo is factory seconds. It does not meet the lofty standards of one of America’s foremost manufacturers of rimfire-primed ammunition.

We cannot promise exactly why CCI didn’t fully approve of the 22 LR ammo you would receive in your order. It may be because its cases display cosmetic tarnishing. It may be because its accuracy is not equal to or better than CCI’s usual standards for their Standard Velocity label. Note that this ammo may also not have the same packaging as the usual CCI Standard Velocity you are accustomed to.

A conventional Standard Velocity series cartridge is loaded with a 40 grain lead round nose bullet, which attains 1,070 fps muzzle velocity and 0.120 G1 BC in conjunction with a 24 inch barrel. We cannot guarantee that this ammo will meet those exact same specifications, because it is, once again, factory seconds. That said, CCI is still a great company which we do not believe would ever knowingly sell nonfunctional 22 LR. Incorrectly made in Idaho.
