This cartridge is loaded with the 22 LR’s tried and true lead round nose projectile. The LRN is economical because it lacks any copper plating, and also plenty accurate courtesy of its ballistically efficient profile. This 40 grain bullet achieves a muzzle velocity of 1,150 fps when fired out of a 24” barrel, and its 0.150 G1 ballistic coefficient means that it should reach the 100-yard line at a velocity of 976 fps.
At 100 yards the bullet’s trajectory should only have dropped by 11.5”, which represents all the accuracy you need to hit right where you’re aiming. The LRN’s lack of a nose cavity means it cannot expand as it penetrates a living animal, so you’d best reserve this ammo strictly for hunting the smallest game.
