This .22 LR ammunition is designed specially for use with suppressed firearms, although it can be fired from most guns chambered for this caliber (cycles most semi-autos). It fires a 42 grain bullet at a subsonic muzzle velocity of 1,020 feet per second.

Subsonic rounds are highly recommended (though not usually required) for use with suppressors. A suppressor (also called a silencer) reduces the noise caused by the cartridge's primer and propellant, but cannot elimiante the "crack" produced by the bullet as it crosses the sound barrier. Therefore, ammunition meant for use with suppressors uses a "standard velocity" load--one that is also commonly used in match ammo due to its excellent inherent accuracy.

These cartridges are produced by renowned rimfire manufacturer CCI for Gemtech, one of the world's leading suppressor developers. They are made in the USA and use rimfire-primed brass cases.
