This cartridge is loaded with the 30 grain TNT jacketed hollow point by Speer. It is a flat-shooting little bullet, not just because of its light weight but also because of its long ogive profile, narrow hollow point nose cavity and concentric jacket. Let the 0.090 G1 ballistic coefficient TNT JHP loose from a rifle and it ought to keep supersonic until approximately 157 yards!
The TNT JHP’s jacket is extremely thin, and it is also strategically weakened by internal flutes which run down the length of that jacket. These features ensure that the bullet produces what can only be described as explosive terminal expansion and fragmentation. Once it has been completed with Federal’s top-shelf brass, primer and powder, the TNT JHP becomes any marksman’s and/or hunter’s best pal!
