Founded in the great state of Ohio back in 1887, Peters Cartridge Company specialized in the production of gunpowder and ammunition until their acquisition by Remington in 1934. It’s neat to see the old label nearly 150 years later – but it feels even better to bag a deer with one of Peters’ famous Blue Tipped bullets!

This 270 Win round features a 130 grain polymer tipped boat tail bullet. Its sharp meplat and low-drag base carve an impressively straight line through the air, and its 0.447 ballistic coefficient squarely reflects that. This bullet exhibits a flat trajectory as it retains around 66 percent of its muzzle velocity at 500 yards, at which point it still packs ample energy to humanely anchor a buck. Here we have a bullet that delivers big throughout the 270’s entire effective range!

Not everything about this round is an homage to days passed, of course. Remington’s primer and propellant are both state of the art, fast to ignite yet incapable of introducing excessive or corrosive residues to the inside of your buck gun. Remington’s brass is so nice you’ll want to fire it twice. (Or thrice!)
